Construction Lead (Civil Engineer)

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Lead with expertise in Civil Engineering to play a key role in our CDBG-DR-MIT 2022-06 projects. The ideal candidate will lead and manage construction efforts, ensuring that projects are completed according to program guidelines, within specified timelines, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Familiarize yourself with the CDBG-DR-MIT program guidelines and requirements.
- Ensure that construction projects align with the program's objectives and meet all compliance standards.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage construction projects under the CDBG-DR-MIT 2022-06 program.
- Develop and execute project plans, schedules, and budgets in accordance with program guidelines. Monitor project progress, addressing any deviations and ensuring adherence to timelines.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders involved in CDBG-DR-MIT projects. Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting collaboration and efficiency.
Quality Control and Safety:
- Implement and enforce rigorous quality control measures to meet the program's standards. Ensure that all construction activities adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Communication:
- Collaborate with program managers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment of project objectives.
- Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and budgetary information related to CDBG-DR-MIT projects.
Resource Management:
- Efficiently manage resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet the requirements of CDBG-DR-MIT initiatives.
- Monitor and control project costs, making adjustments as necessary to stay within budget constraints.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience as a Construction Lead or Project Manager, particularly in disaster recovery and mitigation projects.
- Familiarity with the guidelines and requirements of the CDBG-DR-MIT program.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Understanding of local construction regulations and codes in Puerto Rico.
